COMMISSION DOCUMENTARY UNIT: Definition

 What is a Hero?

According to the Cambridge English Dictionary, a hero is "a person who is admired for having done something very brave or having achieved something great".
When I come across the word, I think of someone, like a super hero, that has gone through everything to save someone or has risked their own life, to save someone else's, even a stranger's.
When I was a young child, I used to think my own parents were superheroes, and so if anything happened to me at any point of my life they would be the ones in a cape flying to come save me if I was in trouble. But unfortunately that's not necessarily true. Though parents are often seen as heroes/superheroes to their own children, due to television shows and animated movies that they watch; they are often not.
So through our own film we could show this fantasy all children have at some point in their life and parents being perceived as heroes even though they might not be capable of being so.
For now though, Sam and I will be trying to find our own ideas separately before showing each other in order to know what we each want from our project.
Yours,
I.
