Today we had to work in groups of two and we were given a press release and an online news report on the outbreak of Ebola in Sierra Leone, to adapt into a script for a televised news piece. Charlie and I worked together on this, and took all the information we were given and thought of how it would be presented in a serious news channel, such as BBC, ITV, etc. by being very specific on the language we used for our script. Whilst writing our script we found that we had to entice the audience as well as inform them about the outbreak and how then UK's £100million mission was going to help the sufferers as well as the locals there.
