PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE: Looking For Work Placements/ Commission Work & Pauline Quirk Academy (PQA)

During my search I was informed that ‘Visit Greece' (a promotional campaign organised by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Greece) was looking for someone to create a 2- 5min promotional video about Greece, showcasing the lovely places, beaches, attractions the country has to offer.
However, when I contacted them, they weren't very keen on paying for my work or for any of my travel expenses and equipment hire expenses, making it difficult for me as a student to take their offer. One of the main reasons for that is, that as a student I have my own expenses to worry about and it would be more righteous of me to stay in the UK and work here. Though it was a brilliant opportunity to promote my country, I would rather do it- as work experience, during the summer when I'll already be there.

However, I was very lucky to be given the opportunity to work with the Pauline Quirk Academy (PQA) based at the Grammar School for Girls in Rochester, to do a work placement with them: assisting children with the production of their films as well as doing their post-production (editing).
Today Verity, the principal of the Rochester, Tunbridge and Tunbridge Wells academies, came to speak to us about the academy and brief us on the tasks we were set to do, either through our work placement or commissioning work.
It was quite interesting to find out about how there are around
