Below I have attached the call sheet we sent to Coco (our reporter for the package) and the shot list for the shoot:
INTERVIEW QUESTIONS:
- "So Jay, how did you feel when you were first told you had blood cancer?" Aiming to bring out an emotional response (good for extreme C/Us)- to tell us more about her personal story.
- "I've heard you've done some fundraising for the charity that supports the cancer you had?" A way for her to mention the loss of her friend and talk for about ACLT- the reasons behind it, etc.- maybe mention statistics (?)
- "What were your thoughts when you were told you're in remission?" To show how well she's coping and to bring a good 'vibe' to the story. Lighten it up a bit.
- "What advice would you give to someone who's just been diagnosed?" Informing our audience of any actions they should take after they've been diagnosed- in some way letting them know that they're not alone. Audiences going through similar situation would relate better.
After meeting Coco, I advised her to also ask her own questions (if she had any) to add more context to our story. One thing I noticed we didn't ask her on the day was, to specify the exact cancer she had and the diagnosis process of it (as it took quite a while for the doctor's to finally diagnose her with blood cancer).
Overall, the shoot went really well today, though our lighting was a bit off. However, we hope to correct (as much as we can) in post production.
