IDEA 1: Family Heroes
Title:
“My Hero”
Producer:

Director:

Introduction:
In life I personally believe that our world, has not been
fair to the heroes around us.
Our film will mainly show this in action by exploring the way in which, family members risk their own life to save the lives of those around them, mainly of their ‘own blood’.
The main conflict is within the families and if when requested to donate their organs in order to save the life of the person at risk, that they would be generous and not selfish.

Ultimately I want the audience to feel sympathy to the
patients exposed through this film but to also feel the need to be
overprotective of their own family members, making this documentary film as an
example of goodwill.
Also to understand that the credit given to those “heroes” is overestimated as we, as a population, should look after our own. This is the idea I want to pass to our audience and this is the idea that I want to pass to the world. From ages 16-34, I want this film to be an example of what we each could do to save each other’s lives, even when it means, risking your own.

People Included:
-Doctors specified in this sector.
-Surgeons
-Patients (current or past)
-Family Members
Location/environment:
Preferably a hospital, but could go from a patient’s home
to the hospital and back again to their home. I want the location to be engaged
to the story (the issue presented through the film).
Target Group:
Part
of doing a documentary film for BBC 3, is that the target group is mainly ages
from 16- 34, which is exactly the group I’m targeting for. This is due to
through those ages we can explain this situation and have a great impact on the
whole situation, as the age group we’re targeting for is the ‘new generation’/
the millennial generation.
Possible Time Aired:
-20:00-21:00.
-It’s usually the time slot when they air ‘junior paramedics’
-It’s usually the time slot when they air ‘junior paramedics’
-It’s
a time slot when people that work during the day, usually sit down at that time
on their couch and watch television.
-It’s
also not the first time slot (19:00-20:00) because to watch a documentary
dealing with hospitals and patients in this condition is not ideal to start off
the whole channel with.
-It is also when all
the other channels like E4, Channel 4 & 5, ITV, etc. are airing American television
series.
